BUFFALO, NY – With the new year brings a new Erie County Executive.

Democrat and now-former Erie County Comptroller Mark Poloncarz was officially sworn-in as the new Erie County Executive Sunday morning.

Several members of the Poloncarz administration have already been named including Deputy Executive Richard Tobe, the former Buffalo Commissioner of Economic Development.

Poloncarz took his oath and in his speech talked about the changes his administration will make including restoring funds to cultural organizations and funding other programs that were cut in recent years.

After the ceremony, Poloncarz showed off his new office at the Rath Building, hosting an open house of sorts.
