Candidate’s Visits Spur Discussion on Issues, Economy

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Democratic candidate for County Executive Mark Poloncarz today enjoyed opportunities to speak with high school students in both the Southtowns and the Northtowns. The visits, at Hamburg H.S. in the morning and Kenmore West H.S. in the afternoon, reinforced the positive response Poloncarz received from students recently during a debate at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and gave Poloncarz another chance to connect with thoughtful young minds. Questions from students at both high schools spurred discussion about the role of government, the political process and about contemporary issues.

“The students asked some very well-researched questions about Erie County government. They certainly did their homework,” Poloncarz said. “I was happy to share my ideas for moving Erie County forward with them because they are the reason I do what I do. I want to improve the economy of our county so that young people have the opportunity to stay here and get a good education, a good job and settle down here.”
