Slaughter, Higgins, Hochul to Attend Fundraiser for Poloncarz

ERIE COUNTY, NY –  County Executive Candidate Mark Poloncarz will hold a fundraiser today with special guests Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-Fairport), Congressman Brian Higgins (D-Buffalo) and Congresswoman Kathy Hochul (D-Amherst).

“I thank the Western New York delegation in Congress for supporting my candidacy,” Poloncarz said. “As County Executive, I pledge to work with my colleagues in Congress to revitalize our economy and bring jobs back to Erie County.”

Slaughter said: “I was one of Mark’s earliest supporters because I know he understands the value of protecting Erie County’s hardworking taxpayers. Mark is a genuine public servant who possesses great integrity and demonstrates a proven record of fiscal responsibility. Right now Erie County needs jobs and we have one of the most skilled workforces in the country. Mark Poloncarz knows that in order to get our economy moving again, we must put our neighbors to work and I believe he has the skills to accomplish this.”

Higgins said: “I’ve known Mark for a long time, and I’ve always been impressed with his commitment to public service and his commitment to our community as a whole. Mark’s top priority is job creation in Erie County, and his experience in nearly six years as County Comptroller demonstrates that he understands the need to deliver services in an efficient manner. As County Executive, Mark will put that experience to work by creating new and innovative ways to attract new business investment in Buffalo and throughout Erie County, all toward the goal of putting more Western New Yorkers to work.”

Hochul said: “Mark and I were great partners when I worked in county government and I hope to build on that strong relationship once Mark is elected Erie County Executive. Today, more than ever, Erie County needs a fighter who will help our small businesses create much-needed jobs, who will work to revitalize our economy, and who will fight to protect the hardworking taxpayers of Erie County.”
