I initially refrained from commenting on the Colorado Springs shooting until it was clear the acts were targeted against Planned Parenthood, and were not a domestic or work related shooting (which in itself would have been bad but unfortunately is all too commonplace in our country today). Based on the facts reported by multiple media outlets since the suspect was apprehended it is clear Planned Parenthood was directly targeted and this was an act of terrorism, domestic terrorism but terrorism nevertheless.

The suspect should be prosecuted by the federal government using all of its options available, including federal domestic terrorism standards, which the U.S. Attorney General’s Office defines as an act “whose goals are to achieve political or social change through activities that involve force or violence.”
